Overview
The SV98 Silver Arrow is a Sniper Rifle first introduced during the 07-13-11 Content Update. Although it supposedly has only 93 damage, it still keeps a 1 shot kill at medium to close ranges. The SV98 Silver Arrow, unlike the original SV98, cannot be modified to 95 damage. However, though the SV98 Silver Arrow only has 93 damage, it tags far less than the SV98. This is probably due to the increased penetration, which allows it to penetrate enemy armor easier, deducting more health points rather than to have the armor absorb the damage. It has a fast scope in speed, much faster than the SV98 and can easily compete with the ASW.338 and the AWM. Overall, as long as the round does not hit a limb, the SV98 Silver Arrow will tag very rarely, and is actually an effective weapon to use at close quarters.

Tips
- The SV98 Silver Arrow is very similar to the AWM performance wise. This includes fast scope in time and sudden random tagging. However, unlike how the AWM can tag at any range, the SV98 Silver Arrow does tag less at close quarters, and more at longer ranges.
- Try to limit the SV98 Silver Arrow's actions to medium-close range, as you will risk tagging at further ranges.
- At long range, aim for the head, just like the regular SV98. This will minimize the risk of tagging.
- Have a reliable, high damage, high range and high accuracy sidearm, such as the Python 357 or the Ruger Super Redhawk, as one shot should be able to finish off the enemy. Revolvers are ideal because of the high damage, so even at 40 meters the 70 damage may dissipate to around 10 damage, which is still enough to kill the enemy with the remaining HP.
Notable Comparisons
- AWM: Statistic wise, both sniper rifles are not alike at all. However, performance wise, they are very similar. Despite the fact that the AWM can be modified to 105 damage, it will still tag as much, or probably even more, than the SV98 Silver Arrow. Both share similar scope in speeds, and both have slow draw times (no racking of the bolt, but there will be the bobbing of the weapon).
